Get to Know Zach

Zach Abraham is a proud product of Ohio County, West Virginia. He lives, contributes, and supports the county, along with his wife and three children.

We need to prepare Ohio County for prosperity, by working together and using our collective wisdom and innovation, we will better position ourselves for future challenges and opportunities.

Zach’s leadership has allowed him to participate, coach, and volunteer with multiple organizations throughout our community. He is a small business owner that serves local and regional businesses in West Virginia, Ohio, and Pennsylvania – along with other areas of the country. Zach’s 20+ years of experience will help everyone living and working in Ohio County.

I have served as a coach and volunteer with multiple organizations within the county and region.

I have served as an elected official of the Board of Education for Ohio County, WV for the past four years (July 2016 through June 2020).

Plan for Ohio County

Ohio County Can be the Best Place to Live and Work in the Tri-State Area by 2035!

The plan starts by pro-actively collaborating more effectively with the City of Wheeling, our county village governments, and many other organizations and service providers throughout the county. By doing so, we can focus on the following primary components:

Creating a Countywide Development/Improvement Plan

Recruiting Sustainable Businesses and Remote Workers

Developing County Assets

Exploring Shared Service/Resource Opportunities

Supporting Workforce Development

Providing New/Improved Infrastructure

Beliefs and Goals

I have helped fiscally oversee public tax funds of over $40 Million in school bond projects along with annual budgets that exceed $65 Million.

I understand the local economic and employment conditions and the future opportunities for Ohio County.

I believe in advancing Ohio County through positive and collaborative relations with the City of Wheeling and our county townships, our collective education communities, our health care communities, our volunteer and paid public safety leaders/servants, and our surrounding counties.

I believe in helping, supporting, and prospering Ohio County through a strong long-term vision, planning/goal setting, and fiscal management, and goal setting for the Ohio County economy and related infrastructure needed for sustainability.

I believe in technology enhancements for county operations/functions, modernization of county records and transparency along with better access to commission meeting records and finances.

Why Did I Choose to Run for Ohio County Commission?

  • Simply……I want to give back to my community in a different way. I was fortunate to serve as an elected board of education member over the past four years as we provided a modernized, creative, and innovative direction for public education in Ohio County.
  • To provide new perspectives and fresh ideas for Ohio County’s future sustainability and growth.
  • To provide a strategic vision, planning, and goals for Ohio County in collaboration with other governmental entities, elected officials, and community groups for the betterment of all Ohio County citizens.
  • To provide proper infrastructure to capture future economic growth opportunities for Ohio County.
  • To help modernize the County Commission technology capabilities, improve transparency, and provide better electronic access to meeting records.
